Dodger Stadium Tour

As a pre-birthday gift Desiree got tickets for us to tour Dodger Stadium. It was beyond cool and we learned a lot! Dodger Stadium is the third oldest ballpark in America behind Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. And it's seating capacity is the largest ballpark in the world. Who knew?
The seafoam colored seat section alone seats more than The Staples Center. It's one of only 11 Major League ballparks without a corporate sponsored name.
Before the tour started. It was already REALLY hot. And on the top deck we were feeling a breeze.
Visiting the Press Box, where Vin Scully, the longest running play by play broadcaster in history, works. 63 seasons!!! And he'll be back for number 64 next year.
Six World Series titles.
Hanging out in the dugout!
On the phone to the bullpen.
Where's Matt Kemp?
On the field!!!
No breeze and roasting HOT!

Seeing behind the scenes, and all the history of this ball club made me fall even more in love with this ballpark. I've always loved the vintage feel of this stadium. Attending a game here is truly a unique experience. Thanks D.D. for such a fun birthday present! And here's hoping to see our boys in BLUE in post season play!

July July

Can you believe July is over half-way over?! It's been a busy month. It started in St. George, Utah with a mini Moody family reunion. It was HOT, but fun to see long lost family.

We've already been to San Diego THREE times.

We saw Matisyahu at the Del Mar Fair.

Fun on the fourth with a cookout and SPARKLERS! Steele made an AWESOME pasta salad.

And what would July be without The Tour de France? The Wilde family becomes obsessive about cycling for the entire three weeks of the race. Some day I'll go to France and see it in person.

Can you think of a better way to spend a Summer evening than at the ballpark with friends? I kind of wish the month would slow down.

OPENING DAY!

It seems like FOREVER since baseball season ended. While I'm not attending Opening Day (my boys in BLUE are facing my former Friars in San Diego), I am practically giddy with excitement. This season has the potential to be amazing. There is a new hope inspired by new owners. Today I'm sharing some of my favorite photos from last season.

Can't wait for my first game! Here's to a great season! And maybe this year I'll actually get myself some Dodger Blue to wear to the ballpark!

Go BLUE!

Army Night at the Ravine

What do you do when Glendale is on fire? Go to the ballpark and breathe in all that smoke! Lucky for us  the wind was blowing all the ashes away from us and we couldn't even smell fire. Those of you who know me, know I am loyal through and through. That includes my hometown teams. Even when they don't win, or even play well---a reality I am used to, having grown up in San Diego. The Padres and the Chargers are still my boys. But since we have relocated to LA, I have to admit, the Dodgers have had an exciting season. They are currently leading the National League West and even though they lost tonight to Arizona, I think they have the talent to go all the way. I still love my Padres---even if they trade away all their good players. Baseball is baseball. And since I won't be seeing any games at Petco Park this year, I'll enjoy the nostalgia at Chavez Ravine.
