Monthly Recap

Today is the last day of the month. And the LAST day of the LIQUIDATION SALE going on over at Sylvia-Louise Handbags. It has been an amazing month of sales! Thanks to all who have supported us. All those bags have now moved on to new homes. It has been hard to let some of them go. And we hope you'll love them as much as we do. Since today is the last day, we are offering up every bag listed at Deal of the Day prices. That's right! Every bag is $25 or $50, depending on the style. HURRY! Prices will never be this low again.

In other news. This being the last day of the month I was noticing that sales in our other shop FlyAKite have been DEAD! I guess you can't have everything. Are people just not having birthdays, or babies, or weddings, or making up a reason to send someone a smile? We've slowly been adding new gifty items to the shop, with more to come. Keep checking back.

Things We Said Today

I've been in a kind of blogger funk lately. Not feeling very inspired. This morning, as I was running errands, I had this song on repeat. It is one of my all time favorite Beatles songs. I've loved it since I was a little girl.

love, maude

Do you L O V E love, maude ? Her profile makes me want to meet her, pull up a cozy chair and spend the day with her.

"I like pretty. Just because it's pretty.

I like kind words and happy people. I adore manners.

I like traditions. Using my grandma's blue willow dishes for special occasions and looking through boxes of holiday decorations carried down from the attic year after year warms my heart.

I like red lipstick. Even though I am quite tall, I love to wear heels. I prefer to wear skirts and dresses. I'm just more comfortable in them.

I love to sew. I have a chinz, overstuffed chair in the corner of my living room that I call "my stitching chair". Curled up in my chair with a needle in hand, coffee on the table and stories in my mind makes a perfect afternoon."

My Camera Might Be Dead, But My iPhone Does Pretty Good.

Today we visited The Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks. Its small and charming. The lilac throughout the gardens smelled heavenly. Not much else was blooming. There were only two roses in the entire rose garden. We plan on going back mid Spring. I LOVED the Spanish style courtyard the best. I managed to capture a few flowers with my phone.

Then it was off to Forest Lawn Cemetery. We FINALLY found Bette Davis (a future post on that). There must have been a lot of death this week because we saw too many fresh graves to count. Some of the tribute flowers were way too beautiful to pass up. It was a lovely day in Los Angeles. Enjoy!

LIQUIDATION SALE

The entire month of March Sylvia-Louise Handbags is having a LIQUIDATION SALE. Our apartment has become crowded with handbags looking for a new home. Most bags are priced $25, $50, $75, $100. We have all kinds of new ideas, but the current inventory MUST be reduced first. All ready made bags must go. Shop early for the best selection.

Every day this month we will be having a DEAL OF THE DAY! A different bag will be featured for $25. For example: today's deal of the day is $25. It normally sells for $175. That's 85% off! We're practically giving them away!

Maybe you're saying to yourself, "But I don't have an Etsy.com account." It's super easy and free to set one up.

Or maybe, "What is wrong with these bags that they are selling them so cheap?" NOTHING is wrong with them. They are all brand new, never used.

There has never been a better time to own a one of a kind handmade Sylvia-Louise Handbag!

Laugh out loud

I realize I've been neglecting my blog, so while I was going through some photos I came across this and thought I would share. It's a birthday card my sister received last year. I laughed then. It gave me a chuckle today. So there you are.
